“This is without question one of the best well plotted stories I have ever read. The creativity is top class, the use of different writing styles and even the well use of conversations in the story. When I started reading this crime story, I could not find time to take a break or take my eyes off till the last page. It felt like a film series summarized into a book to make it more comprehensive and explosive to the reader. This book portrays a story about a yacht captain by the name Julian Mayorca who has high reputation as a yachtsman and is known to be tough to corrupt so he is one of those people who believe in self hard work. His life is changed by his cousin in a way he never imagined. He is forced to resign from the port and join the crime world and there he gains power, money and anything luxurious he can ever dream of. He becomes a billionaire in other words. This is something anyone would love to read during this quarantine period. Amazing!”
“A well-written, gracefully plotted yarn - a must-read for those who love sailing (even if only in their dreams!). An excellent selection for “stay at home” reading! The story takes the reader down to Baja and a wonderful world of luxury yachting. The protagonist and characters are engaging: the readers wants to follow along, from the parties to the giant wave. The story pulls the reader through a fun saga: parties, backroom deals, escaped criminals and romance. Not too heavy, a pleasant, great escape kind of read. The water, the colorful Mexican streets, the food, and the sun will make you forget you’re stuck at home hiding from an epidemic. The bar fight scenes make you glad you’re watching from afar (and not wearing white). This is a very enjoyable, relaxing book. A great beach read, too. the characters are likeable...the protagonist is portrayed as a fallible guy who drinks too much, but we like him and root for him throughout his ups and downs. I highly recommend Baja Air and Sea and look forward to reading more from this author.”
“Baja Air & Sea is a non-stop exhilarating, action-filled read. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was turned into the next Netflix hit of the summer. The novel, without any spoilers, starts off by introducing Julian Mayorca. A man who is living a simple life as a port captain. Until one day his cousin, who is involved in a sketchy criminal bound past, starts creating chaos in Julian’s life. Throughout the novel, there is a theme of giving up morals to live a more extravagant life or continue living a basic life but still having everything you need without over-doing it. It is interesting to see character development or in many cases the exact opposite with certain characters becoming sellouts. The entire book takes place over the course of 6 years which makes the story feel a bit sped up which isn’t a bad thing at all. Zazueta does a great job of keeping the plot interesting on every page. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants a change of pace in their stories.”
“This is a thriller like no other. The book follows a man named Julian whose true passion and love is the sea. As a port captain and successful yachtsman, Julian’s life couldn’t have been better, but unfortunately, it was about to get a whole lot worse. When his cousin forcibly got him involved with a large crime syndicate, Julian became a billionaire. For most that would have been a blessing, but for him, it was a curse, for it cost him his life with the sea. With that plot point as the foundation, and the elements of action, love, and drama thrown in, this novel is one that will grab the attention of anyone and keep their eyes glued to the pages. So if you’re someone who thinks that they don’t like thriller, drama, or actions books, I still suggest you give this one a look. It might just change your mind.”
